Robots

- The operators send search-and-rescue robots into the ruins and control them from outside via radio signals. These robots can amplify signals by itself using repeaters when they know they're going to lose their communication with their operators.

Windows

-Microsoft is developing a new operative system better than vista.

HYBRID CAR

hybrid car: a car that works with gasoline and electricity at the same time.

Why if a woman in San Francisco can trasform hybrid car in 100% electrical car, big companies like Toyota, Honda or Nissan haven't done it yet?

Similarities and Different:

- Normal car is cheap but you are paying a lot of money for gas, meanwhile the hybrid car could be expensive at the beginning but you can save money because you are not consuming a lot of gas.

Contrast between luxury cars and delivery trucks. What do they in common? what do they different each other?

Delivery cars can save a little bit of the costing on the gasoline.

GENETIC MODIFIED FOOD

Modified crop: Scientists worked out a kind of new pesticide-called Bt bacteria- that can reduce some harmful pest on the crop.

This pesticide is considered to be non-toxic to humans, animals, fish, plants, micro organisms and most insects. It is also said to be safe for groundwater because it degrades rapidly. It also can increase the production of crop and solves that problem of lack of food in the world.

You both reported on some interesting topics - I'm glad you're exploring! I'm looking forward to the articles you read for this week that are related to the same theme.

If you do decide to write a final report on either of Robots or Microsoft Windows I hope you'll tell us more about the advantages and disadvantages and perhaps complications in developing these technologies. Are these technologies affordable for many people, or only certain people? Are they available world-wide? What positive or negative impacts might they have for people and / or the environment? Can you think of other questions related to these topics?
